What happens when lightening strikes the ocean?

It is widely known that water conducts electricity, so I was curious as to what your idea's are. Typically everything in the vicinity of the wetness get electrocuted, but does that happen in the ocean? It doesn't seem possible because the ocean is so large, and then there would be nothing left.
