Arachnophobia, directed by Frank Marshall. A large spider from the jungles of South America is accidently transported in a crate with a dead body to America where it mates with a local spider. Soon after, the residents of a small California town disappear as the result of spider bites from the deadly spider offspring. It's up to a couple of doctors with the help of an insect exterminator to annihilate these eight legged freaks before they take over the entire town. -quoted from www.imdb.com It's a semi-horror movie with a little bit of humor and a lot of spiders. What is the best sites to go to to find cheap vacation packages for Ocean City, Maryland?
I am looking to take a one week vacation this summer to Ocean City, Maryland. It is for 2 adults and 2 13 year olds. I also will be bringing our 5 pound chichuahua. The Legacy Project: Ocean Acidification
Ocean acidification is the name given to the ongoing decrease in the pH of the Earth's oceans, caused by the uptake of anthropogenic carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere. About a quarter of the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere goes into the oceans, where it forms carbonic acid. As the amount of carbon has risen in the atmosphere there has been a corresponding rise of carbon going into the ocean. Between 1751 and 1994 surface ocean pH is estimated to have decreased from approximately 8.25 to 8.14,representing an increase of almost 30% in "acidity" (H+ ion concentration) in the world's oceans. When the elephant keepers at the Smithsonian's National Zoo hear the sound of a harmonica, it's not the radio they've left on. Instead, it's the Zoo's 36-year-old Asian elephant, Shanthi, who, unsolicited, has a propensity for coming up with her own ditties using whatever instruments the keepers have provided. These include harmonicas, horns and other noisemakers. The Zoo has captured some of Shanthi's most recent capriccios on this video. The keepers provided the instruments after they noticed that Shanthi, more so than the Zoo's two other elephants, likes to make noise with objects. Violet D'Mello, 60, was wrestled to the ground by a captive big cat after she entered an enclosure at a wildlife park where tourists are invited to pet the animals. The shaken housewife, from Aberdeen, was on holiday with her husband Archie, 64, when the terrifying incident happened. She told today how she was thrown to the ground as two cheetahs mauled at her head, stomach and legs. Mrs D'Mello, who was rushed to hospital after the incident, said: 'It was terrifying and happened so quickly. 'One minute I was in the enclosure with the cheetahs and the next it was biting at my head. 'I was thrown to the ground and had to play dead while it mauled my legs and stomach.' A guide at the game park in the Indian Ocean town of Port Elizabeth managed to pulled the second cat off Mrs D'Mello, but even as he did so, the first cheetah rejoined the fray, pining the Scot to the ground and biting and gouging her legs. It was only when a group of park visitors worked together to pull the two animals off her that Mrs D'Mello was able to make a dash for the petting pen's gate. Amazingly, Mrs D'Mello's husband Archibald had been outside the pen throughout the ordeal from where he captured these astonishing pictures of the attack as it happened. What would be a good paper topic for an African History survey class?
I'm just taking a general history class about Africa. I need to write an 8-10 page paper on any topic I please for the class, as long it as involved a relation to African history. Obviously, this is a broad spectrum. Can anyone suggest some interesting topics? Preferably something that can be made into an **argument!!, and thus proved. Also, a topic or issue that has an ample amount of research. I don't want to make the mistake of picking a topic that has no research already done on it. Thanks for any suggestions.

I am enrolled in a General Earth and Ocean Science degree and want to become a geologist. There is an honours degree in geological science, but I can not get into the program. Is this degree good enough to become a geologist? Or will employers disregard my degree because it is too general?

Cesaria Evora - Carnaval De Sao Vicente
A native of the island nation of Cape Verde, Césaria Évora is known as the country's foremost practitioner of the morna, which is strongly associated with the islands and combines West African percussion with Portuguese fados, Brazilian modhinas, and British sea shanties. Évora began singing morna at age 16 after meeting an attractive young guitarist. Her talent soon had her performing all over the islands, and in the late '60s two of her radio tapes were released as albums in the Netherlands and Portugal, respectively. However, Évora never left her country, and gave up singing in the mid-'70s owing to lack of profit. In 1985, at the age of 45, she decided to return to music and traveled to Portugal to record two songs for an anthology of female Cape Verdean singers. This led to subsequent recording sessions in Paris, which resulted in four albums from 1988 to 1992. Her international fame grew, and she toured Europe, Africa, Brazil, and Canada, with stops in the United States to perform for Cape Verdean audiences. In the fall of 1995, she mounted her first large-scale American tour; subsequent recordings include 1997's Cabo Verde and 1999's Mar Azul and Cafe Atlantico. With Évora now a certified international star, the new millennium didn't see any loss of momentum for the singer and she continued to record and tour the globe.
